Help out North Reading Vets during the Snow Season And volunteer your service by shoveling!
Most of us think of all the fun we can have in the snow, but for some of our seasoned Veterans snow makes daily tasks that much more challenging. This is why North Reading Youth Services is now offering free snow shoveling to our Veterans. Even though this can count toward community service hours, doing a service such as this goes beyond a ‘requirement’ so put your back into it and let’s have some fun with it! The team that shovels the most wins free lunch at Ryer’s with a Veteran of their choice!
You and your friends can create your own shoveling ‘Dream Team’ of 3 or more members and do it together! Each Vet will provide at least two shovels so if you have your own bring it on down! Students will clear walkways, driveways, sidewalks and stairs. Erica Hansen, the Director of Youth Services, or a parent chaperone will supervise each team but transportation cannot be provided.
If you are interested please pick up a packet below or contact Erica Hansen at 978-357-5281, 978-500-3861 or email at northreadingyouthservices@gmail.com. This program is open to both middle and high school students.
